Well, I guess it's more Hockey Night in Our Living Room.
What better way to help your kids learn to skate than to have them play hockey in your living room? Both kids have gotten surprisingly good at balancing on skates. It will be interesting to see Lillian when she finally gets to go on the ice in skates.

Pretty in Pink
When Lillian was born I was pretty against pink. Not sure why. Maybe because it seemed like all girl clothes were pink.
But then something happened and I embraced the pink. Lillian looks cute in pink and Nora is reaping the benefits of it. So here is my second daughter. Two weeks old and covered in pink.

Elijah educating Nora
It was a heartwarming moment to walk into the living room this morning and see Elijah talking to Nora. He was talking in a soothing voice and telling her all about what life was going to be like for her. So glad she has a big brother to look out for her.

Girl time
Lillian and mama soaking our feet. (This was after she painted my toenails. They were very, very pretty.)

Nora
Here's some pictures of our newest addition. Lillian posing with Nora. This was the day that Lillian would only wear her princess costume and heels.
Nora is currently sleeping in our bedroom. Lillian loves her baby sister and keeps going in there and inadvertently waking her up. Elijah decided to take matters into his own hands and made a sign. It's a picture of Lillian - meaning no Lillians allowed. (He also asked me to write her name underneath it in case it wasn't clear.)
Apparently both Elijah and Lillian thought I was taking too many pictures with a flash and felt the need to protect their little sister.

Isla and Katherine
My sister in law Lisa gave birth to twins at beginning of November. I think that she has likely spent 90% of her time since then either feeding them or dealing with the aftermath of having fed them. I feel tired for her.
They are precious girls and I look forward to the day when I see my girls running around with them - sharing the giggles of little girls. Lillian is quite taken with them. The other day she was taking her clothes off and when I asked her what she was doing she said she was giving her clothes to Isla. (I think she just likes saying her name).
Here my kids are with Grandma and one of their cousin's at Christmas.

Waiting
The anticipation of giving birth is the worst waiting of all. Seriously. Christmas or birthday you wait with anticipation but you a)know when it's going to happen and b) don't experience pain to get the wonderful end result.
So we're in the waiting game now. I finished work today and so really all there is left to do is get my hair cut tomorrow morning and patiently wait for Miss Holland to arrive.
I realize that I'm a week from my due date but Elijah showed up on his due date and Lillian came three days early. I figure is the pattern continues I'm likely to deliver early next week. Now that I said that I'll probably be wrong.
Moving has been uncomfortable and at times painful so my movement has been limited recently and I've been watching way too much TV. I think I need to change our channel packages because I've seen all the "Storage Wars" eposides and you can only watch so much "Hoarding".
The good news is that we've settled on a couple of name options so our baby may get a name yet. Yippee!
Nothing more to report here. Good night.

What happened to Elijah's pictures
Elijah got his first school pictures taken recently and to be honest, he looks pretty cute (although I may be slightly biased.) I had been keeping an envelope of them in my purse to give out to unsuspecting strangers.
I noticed that someone in our house had gone through my purse and I quickly guessed that it was Miss Lillian. I noticed that the envelope was empty and was quickly concerned that she had thrown the pictures away. When I asked her where the pictures were she took off to the kitchen.
This is what I saw.
Because obviously pictures are for putting on the fridge to be displayed. Sorry for jumping to conclusions little one.

The calm before the storm
It's Monday, January 1st and I am home alone.
The kids went to Steinbach for a sleepover and Trevor is at work. I hadn't realized how odd that felt until I woke up this morning. I realized that there was no one that needed me. No one needed breakfast and no one needed a diaper change. A greater portion of my life was spent like this yet it seems so far away. It is hard to remember what it was like when it really was just me to think about.
I went to the mall this morning. By myself. I got passed by an old man. I'm walking pretty slow. Saw some moms with their kids in strollers and thought "Yup, that'll be me soon." But not today.
Today it's just me. Living in the calm before the storm that will be called three children.
