Well, they finally did it

The steep stairs in our house that have haunted me since we moved in finally got the better of me. In the middle of the night. While I was holding a crying baby.

That's right. I felt down our stairs earlier this week and have been enjoying the pain of a sore back since then. When I'm not in pain I'm annoyed. It hurts to pick up my son and it's completely inconvenient to sit around putting ice on my back (and unfortunately the lower region as well.)

I am glad to report that the little guy survived unscathed. It could have been worse. It could always be worse.

And this is how we know it's summer...

All winter long my toe nails are naked. Nothing on them. But when the weather starts to get warm and I see the potential for wearing shoes that do not require socks, I am thrilled to paint my toes. And yesterday that great event happened. Thanks to OPI and their exciting polish names, my toes are now covered with "I'm Not Really a Waitress". Just the name brings joy to my heart.

Getting over his cold

I am glad to report that after several sleepless nights, Little Man Elijah is getting over his cold. Now all he needs to do is start sleeping through the night again and I will be filled with joy.

Almost crawling

His bum is in the air. His knees are in the air. Now we just need to help him figure out how to crawl forwards, not backwards.

Welcome Wagon

I was just visited by the Welcome Wagon, congratulating me on the birth of my son. She gave me a basket full of coupons and free stuff. I didn't know that they were still around.

So, if you're moving or having a baby, or know someone that is, the Welcome Wagon will come to your house and bring you a basket of stuff too. Someone just needs to contact them and they'll come visit you.

Looking for a good, healthy muffin recipe

Does anyone have a good muffin recipe that isn't pretending to be a muffin when really it's a cupcake (i.e. loaded with sugar and bad stuff)? I would be pleased as punch if you have one and would share it with me.

Thank you Jesus for spring

It's so nice to be able to go outside and actually enjoy the sunshine without fear of a crazy windchill factor. Elijah is loving being able to sit in his stroller and see what's going on.
